Opening scene of outline
Fey enters a dark wooded area where a figure, Richard Harper, stands there and waits
for him.
Richard asks if Fey has been to his apartment and Fey confirms that he has. Richard is
excited and asks Fey what he thought. Fey responds that Richard needs a housekeeper.
Richard is upset, he wants Fey to witness what is going on in the apartment.
It is revealed that Richard had called Fey a few weeks ago claiming to be the serial
killer that the media has labeled "Zach the Stripper" because of the way he
flays his victims. Fey finally relented and checked out the mans apartment and saw
the evidence.
So, Feys question to Richard...."whats the problem?"
Obviously, Fey doesnt feel its something that he should get involved
in....whatever his code of ethics are, it is too hard for anyone...but Fey, to determine.
Richard grabs his head as he is in obvious agony...an agony that Fey doesnt
seem...or want...to understand. Richard screams out his "problem"...they keep
talking to him---the victims continue to talk to him.
Now, Fey is interested and Richard begins his story of how the victims repeatedly ask
Richard why he did what he did. Richard is near his breaking point and has resorted to
cutting out the tongues of his victims to get them to stop...but to no avail.
And Feys next question to Richard...."what do you want me to do about
it?"
Richard is incensed by Feys seemingly indifference....and for the fact that Fey
continues to call Richard, Zach instead of his given name. Richard pleads with Fey...and
he reveals that he knows all about Fey from others...of how Fey is on the lips of even the
scum of the earth as someone to turn to....and thus, Richard is now turning to Fey.
Fey wants to hear more about why Richard does what he does. Richard tells Fey of how he
was unloved as a child and he simply wants to get close to people...and he rips off their
skin just so he can have their skin as close as possible to h is...thats all....he
just wants closeness.
Richard has heard that Fey can talk to the dead....he can communicate with them. Fey
says that he cant make the voices stop....
...but he will make it so Richard can talk back to them. Richard is taken aback, he
doesnt understand.
Then he does. But it is too late. Fey has already ran the sharp knife across
Richards throat.
In the woods, police have arrived on the scene in a feeble attempt to sneak up on the
suspected killer that they received a tip on.
A night vision view scans the area....but it sees nothing but silent trees....
...until a blinding light floods the viewer and he screams.
Fey is standing in front of him, lighting a match. "Hi."
Crime Scene. Dozens of cops and forensics with lots of flashbulbs going off as
pictures are being taken.
Captain Turnbull is talking with Fey. He wants to know how Fey knew that was...or
is...Zach the Stripper. Fey responds that Richard told him he was. Turnbull is stunned. Thats
his proof? He asks Fey what wouldve happened if Turnbull said that he was
Zach. Fey just gives him a steady look and asks Turnbull if he is Zach. Turnbull stammers
out that of course he isnt and Fey just shrugs and says not to worry about it then.
Fey points over to a huddled mass and says that another body is over there and
thats who told him that Richard was Zach. Turnbull asks skeptically if Fey really
talks to dead people and Fey responds that someone has to.
As Fey is about to leave, he hears some of the cops making jokes about the dead people.
Fey tells them that the dead dont think its so funny. A cop gives him a hard time.
Fey asks if the cop has seen a doctor about his broken jaw. The cop is confused. Fey
lashes out and now the cop realizes what broken jaw he was talking about...
Some of the cops gang up on Fey. Short work is made of the cops as Fey surprises them
with his strength and speed. A forensics technician sees the scene and snaps some pictures
of it. Fey walks away, leaving four cops on the ground, moaning in pain.
Captain Turnbulls office. The forensic technician is desperately trying to
get the captain to look at the pictures but the captain is busy talking to his commander,
the mayor, and the governor about the events that took place and how in the hell did a
civilian get to the serial killer first and kill him?
Fey is in the jail. A couple of the cons mention that they admire Feys Italian
leather shoes. Fey, with a smile, invites them to take them. But another prisoner tells
the cons who the mysterious character is and they all quickly back off.
The technician finally gets the Captain to look at the pictures. Fey is not in
them...but there is a furry blur that seems to be in the midst of all the police including
one that has a broken jaw.
