Whenever the
citizens of Maple City are in danger, they can always depend upon
their new superhero, Li'l Omega, to save them.
And whenever
second-grader Brady Lincoln asks Li'l Omega’s biggest fans, the five sixth-graders
who make up The Spooks Squad, if he can join their spy club, he can always depend upon
them to answer, “Get lost, squirrel-bait.
You’re too young.”
If only The
Spooks Squad knew Brady’s secret!
Eight-year-old Brady
Lincoln is Li'l Omega, the nigh-invulnerable flying superhero with cerulean skin,
cobalt hair, and navy-and-maize uniform. Lil’
Omega, who, at 4’7” and 74 lbs., can juggle ten cabover semis, see in X-Ray,
Infra-Red, and Ultraviolet, and fire a variety of beams from his eyes and fingers.
To most of the kids
at Rutherford B. Hayes Elementary School, though, Brady is just the bookworm son of Sam
and Ella Lincoln, the owners of Stevenson Aerodynamics, Maple City’s largest
industry. However, to Jean Joseph, Jackson
Carter, Brian Horak, Dale Davis, and Eve Akers, the members of The Spooks Squad—a
“discriminating” club of wannabe Spy*Kids whose clubhouse is an abandoned
utility shed on the boundary of the Lincolns’ estate—Brady is a tag-along who is
always trying to cut in on their adventures. Adventures
that—since this is a retro series—invariably end up being more than the
Spooksters can handle. Fortunately for them,
their hero, Li'l Omega, always seems to arrive in the nick of time to save their bacon.
Wouldn’t Jean,
Jackson, Brian, Dale, and Eve be amazed to discover that it has been “Tag-along
Brady” rescuing them all these times?
Wouldn’t they
be bowled over to learn that all Brady has to do is touch the small upside-down U
scar on his forehead and think, “Change!”, to make the familiar Omega-shaped
golden headband appear, the first stage in Brady’s transformation into Li'l Omega! The Omega headband that is Li'l Omega’s
telepathic link to The Star Core, the source of his awesome powers!
Wouldn’t The
Spooks Squad flip their lids to find out that their hero’s secret headquarters, the
legendary Star Citadel, lies beneath their clubhouse in a cavern underneath the Lincolns’ estate.
Or that Brady’s Mom and Dad are really plasma projections for The Star
Citadel’s sentient computer and The Star Core’s consciousness.
But how did Brady
Lincoln become Li'l Omega? What is his true
relationship with the Lincolns? Where
did this family come from: the future or some
mythological place from Earth’s past like Atlantis?
And why does Brady risk his life battling such arch-adversaries as the Laser
King and Timothy Thunderproof?
The world may
never learn the answers to these questions…but The Spooks Squad might. (Crazier things have happened.) And if Jean, Jackson, Brian, Dale, and Eve ever do
crack this particular case, who knows? They
might finally let Brady join their club!
