                  MIGHTY 1
                                                                (CREATED BY DAVE ARNOLD)

MORE THAN JUST A KNOCK OUT.

MIGHTY ONEChristina is the founder and principal owner of "Mighty Threads," fashion designer to the superhero set. (Where did you think they got those costumes?) She is also a human dynamo, maybe the strongest person on earth.

When Christina was born 22 years ago, her father, the renowned archaeologist Dr. Paul Puissant, was excavating a site inside a milefort along Hadrian’s Wall in England when he discovered an exquisite egg-shaped ruby the size of a large piece of hail, perfectly smooth except for two small chips. Returning to France to see he his new daughter, Dr. Puissant gave baby Christina a present that would change her life: two tiny custom earrings inlaid with the ruby’s chips.

Months later researchers studying the rub discovered that it possessed the peculiar ability to transform light into other forms of energy, and that its genetic matrix was unlike anything any geologist had ever seen, leading the researchers to suspect the ruby was synthetic, possibly extraterrestrial. This information was classified, so Dr. Puissant and his wife, model Alexandria Bijour-Puissant, never knew the potential risk to Christina.

By the time Christina was seven the earrings, which she wore constantly, had grafted themselves to her lobes. Doctors assumed the graft was caused by some freak mutation on Christina’s part, and the Puissants decided not to risk scarring Christina’s ears by having the jewelry surgically removed.

By the time Christina was nine she was faster, stronger, and tougher than the healthiest boy her age. These attributes increased geometrically each year until Christina was superhuman, or, as her father liked to call her, "My little mighty one." Except for their closest family friends, the Puissants kept Christina’s powers a secret, Christina especially afraid public knowledge would spoil her dream of becoming a model like her mother. However, by the time Christina was 18, it was obvious that not only her powers but her height had leveled off, and, no matter how beautiful she was, no agency would hire a 5’2" model. "Too short."

But Christina Puissant is not a quitter. Instead of forfeiting her dream she shifted its focus. An excellent amateur fashion designer, Christina sweet-talked her uncle, Henri Puissant, into letting her open a design studio in an abandoned warehouse he owned across the Atlantic in the heart of New York City’s garment district. Henri acquiesced, but despite Christina’s best efforts "Mighty Threads" was going nowhere fast when, all of things, a team of superheroes, Alpha-Team-Omega, approached her about submitting designs for their new costumes.

A ray of hope!

And then, while rushing to her meeting with Alpha-Team-Omega, Christina bumped into a 50’ monster named Fafnir.
