ANTICIPATED THEMESThe property list of Caliber Entertainment is extensive and
diversified. Genres range from science fiction, horror, superhero, drama, western, comedy
to thriller.
It has been said by some that Caliber is on the edge of desirable concepts but because we didn’t aggressively promote our properties for exploitation, we missed the opportunities. In other words, similarly themed properties are signed and put into production although Caliber had the concept created prior. We had Searchers (starring the great literary figures of Victorian horror and science fiction) before League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or the Adventures of Jules Verne existed. Our Sherlock Holmes versus Dracula (Scarlet in Gaslight) was published years before a Holmes-Dracula script was sold. Our Oz and Wonderland (based on the Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland books, respectively) series were announced years before the dark, twisted version of Alice came out as a game and now is signed for a film. Deadworld was one of our first titles, years before Resident Evil existed. Helsing was published prior to the release of the Van Helsing Chronicles. Robyn of Sherwood featured Robin Hood's daughter well before Disney announced their Princess of Thieves. Caliber's TROY was a graphic novel before the Brad Pitt film was announced. Caliber had a new version of War of the Worlds before the upcoming Tom Cruise film. Of course, we realize that ideas are always circulating but clearly, Caliber has placed itself with creating properties that prove to be concepts and ideas that find interest. |
